If the rumor is true that President Duterte is seriously eyeing Bongbong Marcos for the Comelec Chairman position next year after the 1 year ban is lifted, then it probably will create a lot buzz from everyone. It has been "an inside knowledge" that Duterte was very skeptical when VP Leni Robredo won the elections two months ago. He was aware that BBM was leading the surveys by a huge margin against all other candidates, including Leni.
So, it was such a very surprising result to see Robredo win the VP seat instead of his good friend BBM. There had been a lot of talk that the Daang Matuwid party might rig the election by way of the VP seat. A lot of people wanted her to win and voted for Leni but everybody knew that Marcos would win. And they knew that if the result showed Leni as the winner, then electoral fraud was in place. On his part, BBM has already filed for an electoral protest to the Comelec. God knows if it will ever favor on his side. Duterte's plan to put him as Comelec Chairman may change BBM's fate. This still remains to be seen since everything about this bold plan is speculated and under wraps.
