Erice is being banned for being an attack-dog of the Liberal Party and defeated candidate Manuel ‘Mar’ Roxas II during the May 9 campaign; Abad for being the wife of outgoing Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, who is the LP’s ideologue; and Romualdo for allegedly trying to disrupt Duterte’s campaign in his province.
There are other LP congressman that are also banned from joining the majority but are appealing to Alvarez.

More and more LP congressmen keeps switching to PDP-Laban just to be in the majority bloc and keep their seats within the house and avoid Duterte’s cross-hairs which reduce LP to 40 members in the house from a previous number of 110 and the number will keep dropping.
